PETALING JAYA:
Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) will contest in Dayak-majority seats at the 13th state election.

The party’s president, Moses Ripai said support for the party among the various Dayak communities, including the Bidayuh and Orang Ulu, was picking up momentum, the Borneo Post reported.

Moses, a retired major, said these communities had expressed support for PBDS.

He went on to say that PBDS, as the voice of the Dayak people, wanted to ensure the community could progress alongside others.

“I always remind the Dayak community to stay ‘segulai sejalai’ (together in unity),” he was quoted as saying.

The party vied for 11 seats in the previous state election, but did not win even a single seat.

In 2022, the party’s permanent chairman, John Brian Anthony, was reported as saying that they were looking to contest 29 out 82 state seats.

Yesterday, Moses revealed that former minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Joseph Entulu Belaun, had joined the party.

Entulu was subsequently named the Selangau PBDS division chief.

Sarawak’s next state election must be held by April 2027.
