PETALING JAYA:
An aide to Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari has announced his candidacy for PKR’s central leadership council elections in May.

Saifuddin Shafi, the Selangor PKR strategic director, said he wanted to close the gap between PKR’s grassroots and leaders while bringing realistic yet daring change in the party.

“With the guidance and inspiration of the previous leadership, as well as my experience in government and party administration, I humbly offer myself as a candidate for the central leadership polls.

“We need a central leadership council that isn’t afraid to take the lead, embrace change, and take on the challenges ahead of the party,” he said in a statement.

Saifuddin said he would visit every PKR division to canvas for votes while listening to the views and hopes of grassroot members.

PKR will hold its divisional elections from April 11-20, while the elections for the central leadership as well as women and youth wings will take place on May 24.
