PETALING JAYA:
Police are searching for two women suspected of concealing the birth of a baby and disposing of the body in the restroom of a petrol station in Sungai Haji Dorani, Sungai Besar, yesterday.

Sabak Bernam police chief Yusof Ahmad said a report was received at about 12pm after the baby’s body was discovered in the toilet bowl, Harian Metro reported.

“Police rushed to the scene, and a medical examination confirmed that the baby had died,” he was quoted as saying in a statement today.

Yusof said preliminary investigations found that CCTV footage had captured a pregnant woman entering the women’s restroom, accompanied by another woman.

“They were seen arriving in a blue Perodua Bezza, although the vehicle’s registration number was unclear,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to two years in prison, a fine, or both.

Yusof urged those with information on the case to come forward to assist in the investigation.

“Those with information can contact investigating officer Nor Aimi Lyana Mohd Khairani at 018-2510452,” he said.
