Puspakom CEO Mahmood Razak Bahman said the runner used one chassis number and different vehicle registration numbers for multiple bookings.
“One slot only costs RM3.50, but some have been sold for up to RM750,” he said after a visit by road transport department (JPJ) director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli to Puspakom’s Shah Alam branch.
Mahmood said an investigation is still being carried out with JPJ’s assistance to identify the runner involved.
Aedy also said his department is seeking assistance from agencies such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on the appropriate action to be taken.
“We are using all of our available channels to locate the runner, but we cannot contact him. So we are exploring other methods to find him,” he said.
Previously, transport minister Loke Siew Fook said Puspakom will not allow multiple inspection slot bookings using the same registration number following the discovery of middlemen selling slots to other parties at higher prices.
