Timur Laut deputy police chief Lee Swee Sake said the 43-year-old doctor was also suspected of taking pictures of the woman’s body with a mobile phone during the check-up.
The incidents allegedly occurred in June 2023, when the 30-year-old woman visited a private clinic in the Pulau Tikus area to obtain the results of a blood test.
Lee said the doctor was arrested after presenting himself at the district police headquarters last night following a police report lodged by the woman on Tuesday.
He has been remanded for four days until Monday. The case is being investigated for sexual harassment and insulting behaviour under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
Section 509 of the Penal Code provides for a prison sentence of up to five years, a fine, or both, upon conviction, while Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act allows for a maximum fine of RM100.
