Wan Muhammad Faezyl Wan Mansor, 31, was charged with possessing nine imitation weapons at his business premises in Bandar Baru Kijal and the remaining 101 at his residence in Kerteh.
The offences were committed at 2.30pm and 3.45pm respectively on Jan 5.
The charges were brought under Section 36 of the Arms Act 1960 for the possession and importation of imitation weapons, punishable by a maximum one year in prison, a fine not exceeding RM5,000, or both.
Deputy public prosecutor Lim Zhan Yi asked the court to impose a commensurate sentence, but lawyer Nur Farahin Shazlin Redhuan Shah Edwin requested a lower sentence due to Wan Faezyl’s financial circumstances.
Magistrate Sharifah Amirda Shasha Amir Sharifuddin ordered Wan Faezyl to pay a fine of RM2,000 and RM2,500 respectively, and to serve three months in jail if he failed to pay the fine for each charge.
