PETALING JAYA:
Former PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has yet to decide if he will contest in the upcoming party elections.

“I haven’t made a decision yet. If I do, I will hold a press conference,” he was quoted by Bernama as saying.

In September last year, Saifuddin relinquished his post as party secretary-general – a role he was first appointed to in 2010 before being reappointed in 2022 – to former Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh.

He, however, remains as Pakatan Harapan’s secretary-general, a member of PKR’s political bureau, and a member of the unity government’s leadership council.

In the last party elections, Saifuddin was involved in a straight fight with Rafizi Ramli for the deputy presidency. Rafizi won the contest after securing a majority of more than 19,000 votes.

PKR will hold elections for its divisions and central committee leadership in April and May, respectively.
