PETALING JAYA:
A Customs tribunal officer was found dead this morning, with his neck and legs bound with cable ties.

However, Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa has ruled out foul play.

In a statement, Rusdi said police discovered the 45-year-old man unconscious on the floor of an office in the finance ministry, after they received a call by the public at 10.56am.

“We found no criminal element at the crime scene. The case has been classified as sudden death.”

The body has since been sent to Putrajaya Hospital for a post-mortem.

Meanwhile, Bernama quoted a source as saying that the victim was believed to have been missing since Monday after clocking in for work.

An internal search was conducted, and civil defence personnel later found his body in one of the offices.

Rusdi advised the public not to speculate about the case.

He also urged those with information to contact the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-21159999 or the Putrajaya police hotline at 03-88862222, or the nearest police station.
