PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a 45-year-old man in connection with the commotion that erupted during Kuala Selangor PKR’s annual meeting on Saturday.

Kuala Selangor police chief Azharudin Tajudin said the suspect was detained at around 4.15pm on Monday to assist in the investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

“The investigation is still ongoing to determine if the suspect has any links to secret societies,” he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.

The incident gained attention after several videos of an argument made the rounds on social media, showing a woman being threatened with a parang by a man.

On Monday, Azharudin confirmed that police had launched an investigation over the threat after they received a report on March 1.
