Couple killed in crash at Kuala Kurau

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident could not be traced.

A married couple was killed in a road accident on Jalan Pantai, Batu 9, Batu Piandang near Kuala Kurau, this morning.

Perak fire and rescue department assistant director (operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the victims were the 59-year-old driver of a Perodua Kelisa and his 66-year-old wife.

They were pronounced dead at the scene, and their bodies handed over to the police for further action.

“Their 13-year-old son was only injured in the crash,” Sabarodzi said when contacted by Bernama.

He said a team from the Kuala Kurau fire and rescue station was rushed to the scene, about 9km away, after receiving a distress call at 7.29am.

The crash had involved the Perodua Kelisa and a Honda City. However, the driver of the Honda City could not be traced, Sabarodzi said.
