OCM president Norza Zakaria said construction will cost RM93 million while RM10 million has been set aside to lease land for the building in Bukit Jalil.
Olympic House will be built on a 2.18 ha plot of government land next to the National Hockey Stadium and will be modelled after the International Olympic Committee’s headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The building’s facilities will include a museum, a banquet hall, a media conference room, meeting rooms and several offices for sports associations.
“It will be located at the entrance of the Kuala Lumpur Sports City and will be easily accessible and close to public transport networks,” said Norza in an Astro Arena report yesterday.
He was speaking to the media during the signing of an agreement between OCM and the Malaysian Stadium Corporation following the Cabinet’s decision to approve the lease of the land for Olympic House.
