In a social media post yesterday, Nik Nazmi, who is one of the party’s seven vice-presidents, said he will also be defending his post as the PKR Setiawangsa division chief.
“Based on my experience and the trust given to me by my colleagues in the party, I am committed to strengthening the party and fighting for inclusive policies,” Nik Nazmi, who is also the natural resources and environmental sustainability minister, said.
PKR will hold divisional elections next month, and those for the central committee in May.
Nik Nazmi’s announcement comes a day after Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari said he would be defending his vice-presidency.
The other vice-presidents are science, technology and innovation minister Chang Lih Kang, Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun, Nurul Izzah Anwar, deputy national unity minister Saraswathy Kandasami and former Putatan MP Awang Husaini Sahari.
Nik Nazmi also said his division will be backing Anwar Ibrahim to remain as PKR president and for Rafizi Ramli to be retained as his deputy.
Anwar has endorsed Rafizi to remain as his deputy, saying he should be given room to carry out his duties and responsibilities.
