PETALING JAYA: Villagers in Kinarut, Sabah, were awakened this morning by news that another old bomb, believed to be a still-active World War II relic, was found at a construction site this morning.
Papar police chief Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said a district-level meeting would be held to discuss disposal of the bomb. Preliminary checks found it was the same size as a bomb found on Tuesday.
“We have information that this bomb is still active and dangerous. We want to take action, but public safety is our priority,” Bernama reported him as saying.
The first bomb, weighing 250kg, was found by workers carrying out cleaning work at the construction site. It was disposed of yesterday.
