Father dies, teen daughter unhurt after tree crushes car in Klang

PETALING JAYA:
A 46-year-old man was killed while his teenage daughter escaped unhurt after a tree fell on their car on Jalan Batu 3 Kampung Bukit Kuda in Klang, Selangor, today.

The tree had toppled during a downpour at about 6.30pm and landed on their Mercedes-Benz, trapping them inside.

A fire and rescue department spokesman said the driver, identified as Aszehari Ansar, was found unconscious in the driver’s seat, but his 13-year-old daughter, Nur Syifa, was rescued by passers-by before an ambulance arrived.

Firefighters from the Klang Selatan fire and rescue station had arrived at the scene within six minutes of receiving an emergency call.

A paramedic pronounced Aszehari dead at 7.12pm.
