Woman remanded for allegedly stealing RM2,500 at wedding

Police arrested the 61-year-old yesterday after a 38-second viral video showed her at a wedding in Pasir Mas, Kelantan recently.

A senior citizen who was arrested after a video went viral on social media showing her allegedly stealing RM2,500 at a wedding in a private home, has been remanded.

The order to remand the 61-year-old woman for four days, starting from today until Feb 20, was issued by magistrate Izdham Naim Che Ani, Bernama reported.

Also remanded was a 62-year-old man, believed to be her accomplice. They are both being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code.

Police arrested the two individuals in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, at 5.04pm yesterday, according to Bernama.

Earlier, a 38-second video had gone viral on social media, showing a woman who did not receive an invitation, entering a house during a wedding in Kampung Tasek Berangan, Pasir Mas, on Feb 1.

The video then showed her allegedly stealing the RM2,500 in cash.
