PETALING JAYA:
Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim was heckled on Saturday night at a dinner honouring party veteran Lim Kit Siang.

A man believed to be an aide to national chairman Lim Guan Eng was believed to have hurled a vulgar insult at Sim and called him a traitor, Malaysiakini reported.

Sim, who is rumoured to be Penang’s next chief minister, is said to have responded “with a smile”.

Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred when Sim was greeting supporters at the dinner. The man approached Sim and berated him for nearly 10 seconds, and also accused him of attempting to undermine Guan Eng.

Sim, however, remained unperturbed. He said the dinner was all about Kit Siang. “Everything else is unimportant,” he was quoted as saying.
