Perak, Melaka to get new police chiefs next month

Bukit Aman’s Special Branch II meanwhile will get a new deputy director.

PETALING JAYA:
Noor Hisam Nordin, the deputy Pahang police chief, will become the new head of Perak police next month.

Hisam will replace Azizi Mat Aris who retired on Nov 10 last year, taking over from Zulkafli Sariaat who has been serving as acting chief.

Dzulkhairi Mukhtar meanwhile will take over as Melaka police chief, replacing Zainol Samah who retired last month. Dzulkhairi is currently inspector-general of the police secretariat and head of firearms licensing.

In another key appointment, Sarawak deputy police commissioner Ibrahim Darus has been named as a deputy director in Bukit Aman’s Special Branch II.

The new appointments are effective March 10, Bukit Aman said in a statement.
