PETALING JAYA: Police arrested a man in his 20s for sexually harassing a female athlete at the Seremban rest and recreation (southbound) area at about midnight last night.
Nilai police chief Abdul Malik Hasim said they received a report of the incident at about 12.15am today, reported Berita Harian.
“Based on the information provided, a team from the Nilai police headquarters went to the location and arrested the suspect,” he said in a statement.
He said the suspect had walked behind the woman before allegedly touching her bottom.
The woman’s friends, who witnessed the incident, chased and caught the suspect as he attempted to flee.
Malik said the suspect, who has been remanded for four days, is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force with intent to outrage the modesty of a person.
