The management said the fire at 7.36pm was put out by the fire and rescue department, and the mall was closed to the public after that.

“IOI Mall Damansara will resume business as usual tomorrow. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and please be assured that the safety of our shoppers remains our top priority,” it said in a statement.

Videos shared on social media tonight showed shoppers hurrying to safety as fire alarms blared in the background.

Golden Screen Cinemas also said on Facebook its cinema will remain closed for the night and that customers would be refunded for their tickets.
