PETALING JAYA:
The authorities have visited an animal shelter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Penang, following allegations that 10 strays had been killed, with their carcasses dumped in a dustbin.

SPCA administrator, Lily Leng said the police and the veterinary services department had stopped by the shelter, Harian Metro reported. “We are leaving it to the police and therefore unable to comment further,” she was quoted as saying. No other details were provided.

Photographs and a video of the incident recently surfaced online and a police report was subsequently lodged by a man who alleged that he discovered the carcasses of cats in a black plastic bag dumped in a bin by an employee of the shelter on Wednesday evening.
