Rostam, 59, pleaded not guilty after the corruption charges were read to him before sessions court judge Nasir Nordin here.
For the first charge, he is accused of accepting RM90,000 in cash at a restaurant in Puchong on Feb 20, 2023, as an inducement to award a SUKE contract to Satunas Technologies Sdn Bhd.
On the second count, Rostam is accused of accepting RM20,000 in cash at the parking lot of the Malaysian Highway Authority headquarters in Kajang on March 27, 2023, to facilitate the award of another SUKE contract to Satunas Technologies.
The charges were framed under Section 16(a)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, which provides for up to 20 years in jail and a minimum fine of RM10,000, upon conviction.
The judge allowed Rostam’s request for the case to be transferred to the Kuala Lumpur sessions court to be heard with his other corruption charge.
Nasir also ruled that the same bail conditions imposed by the KL court yesterday would apply.
Rostam, who has been placed on a leave of absence by Prolintas since July last year, was represented by lawyer Dzulkifli Ahmad, while deputy public prosecutor Irna Julieza Maaras appeared for the prosecution.
Yesterday, Rostam was charged with accepting a RM70,000 bribe from a representative of Satunas Technologies Sdn Bhd to award work packages for SUKE to the company.
