PETALING JAYA:
Police are searching for a man in his 50s who slapped his wife at the entrance of a Kota Warisan shopping mall in Sepang, Selangor.

Sepang police chief Norhizam Bahaman said the victim’s sibling lodged a police report over the incident, captured in a video which has since gone viral.

“The complainant confirmed that the victim who was assaulted was her 35-year-old sister. The suspect who hit the victim is her husband, a Malaysian in his 50s,” he said, according to Harian Metro.

Norhizam also said that the cops were recording statements from witnesses while tracking down the suspect and victim.

The case is being probed for voluntarily causing hurt and domestic violence.

In the video, the woman can be seen walking out of the mall and stopping as the suspect approaches.

The suspect, who had a child with him, slaps the woman on the face and says something angrily to her before they both leave the mall.
