3 killed in 2-car collision near Tangkak

PETALING JAYA:
Three men were killed and four others injured in an accident involving two vehicles at Km45 Jalan Muar-Segamat near Tangkak, last night.

Tangkak police chief Roslan Talib said two of the victims, identified only as Zamri, 53, and Aris, 56, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third, Lim Yong Chia, 61, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Tangkak Hospital, Bernama reported.

Police were informed about the incident at about 10pm.

Roslan said the accident occurred when the car driven by Zamri, travelling from Segamat towards Kluang, went out of control and struck a lamp post on the road divider. The car veered into the opposite lane and collided with an SUV carrying Lim.

The driver and another passenger in the SUV, as well as two passengers from the car, sustained injuries and were taken to the same hospital.
