
In a Bernama report, Kuala Lumpur immigration director Wan Saupee Wan Yusoff said they are being investigated for overstaying in the country and not having valid travel documents.
Wan Saupee said the operation at the popular tourist spot started at 7.15pm and was carried out after the agency received complaints from the public.
Wan Saupee said those arrested comprised 71 Bangladesh nationals, 60 from Myanmar, 24 from Indonesia, 16 from Nepal, three from Pakistan, and one each from Egypt and Sudan.
They were taken to the Kuala Lumpur immigration department’s headquarters for documentation process and further action.
The operation involved 61 immigration officers and 30 Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) personnel.
