Bentong police chief Zaiham Kahar said they were notified of the landslide at 2.47am. It had rendered Jalan Amber Court and Jalan Ion Delemen impassable to all traffic.
He said the landslide only damaged property in the area, and cleanup works were completed at 2pm with the roads reopened to vehicles.
“The authorities will continue monitoring the location,” he said in a statement, while urging the public not to speculate or spread false information on the incident.
Separately, Resorts World Genting said its emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the landslide site, and that its operations were unaffected.
It said it was working closely with the authorities to manage the situation.
“The safety and well-being of all affected individuals remain our utmost priority. We assure (you) that guests and staff at Resorts World Genting are safe and our operations remain unaffected and fully accessible on the main road of Jalan Utama Genting,” it said in a statement.
