KUALA NERUS:
Three restaurant workers here were taken to hospital today after they fell unconscious, believed to be from inhaling leaked gas at the premises.

Kuala Nerus fire and rescue station chief Azmi Omar said his team received a call at about 9.50am and sent 11 personnel to the scene.

“We received a call from a restaurant worker who saw his three colleagues fainting one after another in the kitchen area. The caller was unharmed as he was wearing a face mask.

“Our team ventilated the area by opening the restaurant’s doors for three hours and shutting off the liquefied petroleum gas valve. Based on our initial inspection, we suspect the leak originated from the cooking gas cylinder,” he said at the scene.

The three victims are all in their 20s.
