
Fire and rescue department operations commander Saiful Bahari Mohamad said two of the victims are being treated in the emergency services’ red zone, nine are in the green zone, and 12 are in the yellow zone.
He said the department received a call on the incident at 4.16am, and mobilised personnel to the site from the Sungai Bakap and Nibong Tebal fire and rescue stations.
“Twenty-three people were injured and three were uninjured. The personnel extricated all the victims, and an emergency medical rescue services team provided preliminary treatment.
“The injured victims have been sent to the Sungai Bakap and Seberang Jaya hospitals for treatment,” he said.
