
Deputy communications minister Teo Nie Ching said this was a significant increase compared to the previous year, which saw the removal of 1,763 such content, Bernama reported.

“Cyberbullying has a profoundly negative impact on victims.
“All of us share the responsibility of promoting a safer, more positive and harmonious digital environment,” she said during a speech at SK Bukit Rok in Bera, Pahang, as part of her working visit today.
Teo said students at the school had been introduced to the “Klik Dengan Bijak” advocacy programme, which promotes responsible online behaviour.
MCMC conducted 46 such programmes, involving 17,000 participants, in Pahang last year.
On the development of telecommunications infrastructure in Orang Asli areas within the Bera constituency, she said five new towers have been completed and are now fully operational.
Two additional towers are under construction.
She said the ministry remains committed to ensuring that every Malaysian nationwide has access to quality telecommunication and internet services.
