It’s a homecoming, says Zahid’s daughter of rumoured UPM post

Nurulhidayah Zahid hints of the appointment in a cryptic post with a Malay proverb on returning to one's roots.

PETALING JAYA:
Nurulhidayah Zahid, daughter of Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, is said to have been appointed to Universiti Putra Malaysia’s board of directors.

She took to Instagram to hint of the appointment in a cryptic post using a Malay proverb that meant a return to her roots or a homecoming of sorts at her alma mater.

Nurulhidayah holds a master’s degree in communications from UPM.

An image of a purported letter of appointment has made the rounds online. It informed Nurulhidayah that she was appointed as a member of UPM’s board of directors for three years ending on Jan 1, 2028.

The letter, marked confidential, bears the signature of higher education minister Zambry Abdul Kadir.

FMT has reached out to the minister for comment.
