Youth, sports and entrepreneurship committee chairman Najwan Halimi said he would meet with Ng Suee Lim, who heads the local government and tourism committee portfolio, to discuss the matter, Bernama reported.
“We (state government) deeply regret the recent tragic deaths. However, we trust that the authorities have conducted thorough investigations and support the move by the police to temporarily suspend the approval of permits for concerts,” he was quoted as saying.
“Our goal is to prevent such incidents from happening again.”

Najwan was speaking to the media during the Selangor Madani Youth Tour Carnival 2024 Series 3 at Pantai Remis, Jeram, today.
Yesterday, Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said permits for concerts in the state would be suspended effective immediately.
He said that in future, organisers need to assure the authorities that they would be able to prevent drugs from being smuggled into the concert venue.
The four who died at the event at Sunway Lagoon on Dec 31 were suspected to have taken ecstasy, although investigators are still waiting for the toxicology analysis report for confirmation.
Hussein was also reported to have said that police believe the drugs were “brought in or bought” inside the concert venue.
Najwan expressed hope that concert organisers will thoroughly evaluate the effectiveness of their procedures, particularly in stopping prohibited substances from entering or being used at such events.
