14-year-old stabs aunt with knife

They got into an argument when the aunt did not allow her to return home to her mother.

A 14-year-old girl has been detained for stabbing her aunt with a knife during an argument at a flat in Butterworth, Penang, yesterday.

Seberang Perai Tengah police chief Helmi Aris said the woman, aged 35, was rushed to hospital for treatment while the teenager was arrested at the scene, Bernama reported.

He said police were informed that the woman was stabbed by her niece at 11.30am.

The girl had been living with her aunt for the past four days because of some issues with her family, he said in a statement.

But they got into an argument when the aunt tried to stop the niece from returning to live with her mother.
