
Azri said most of them had been convicted by the courts for involvement in narcotics cases, Bernama reported.
“For most of them, when their first urine test comes back positive, a second sample is sent to the hospital pathologist. Once confirmed positive, only then do we charge them in court.
“They will be immediately fired if they are convicted,” he was quoted as saying.
Azri reiterated that police will not compromise with any personnel involved in misconduct as the force must serve and protect the people.
“The public have high expectations (of the police) and we (JIPS) work hard (to maintain the discipline of officers and personnel). We will get rid of those not suited for the force,” he said.
