Employers federation appoints Sheikh Farouk as new CEO

He takes over from Shamsuddin Bardan, who will now take on an advisory role in the Malaysian Employers Federation.

PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Employers Federation has appointed Sheikh Farouk Sheikh Mohamed as its new CEO, succeeding Shamsuddin Bardan.

Shamsuddin, who was also MEF’s executive director for 25 years, will take on an advisory role in the group.

MEF said Sheikh Farouk was the managing director of Aeon Big (M) Sdn Bhd from July 2022 to August 2024, where he oversaw the operations of 22 hypermarkets across the country.

He was also with the Nestle group of companies for 18 years before joining Aeon Big. He was a member of MEF’s council for two years before his appointment as CEO.

“Sheikh Farouk brings over two decades of experience in corporate leadership, finance, and strategic business management. We are confident that MEF will reach even greater heights under his guidance,” MEF said in a statement.
