
PETALING JAYA: A scrapyard in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, was razed to the ground last night by a fire which took firefighters nearly two hours to put out.
The Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department was alerted to the blaze at 9.06pm, with four fire trucks deployed to the scene, Berita Harian reported.
“The firefighting operation was carried out by spraying foam to keep the fire from spreading further. The fire was successfully contained at 10.20pm.”
The fire was extinguished by 10.55pm while the scrapyard was 100% destroyed in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
