Fazlie Isa pleaded guilty in the Batu Pahat magistrates’ court after the charge under Section 292 of the Penal Code was read before magistrate Suhaila Shafi’uddin, Berita Harian reported.
The oil palm plantation worker was charged with possessing the lewd videos and photos in his handphone at a house in Sri Medan, Batu Pahat, at 11.15pm on Dec 23.
Section 292 deals with the sale, hire, distribution and public exhibition of obscene materials. It provides for up to three years in jail, a fine, or both upon conviction.
According to the facts of the case, police were informed by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission about an internet link used by Fazlie, which was linked to the obscene material he had recorded.
Police then raided Fazlie’s home, where he lives with other family members, and seized his phone. Checks then revealed several pictures and videos taken by him.
He then confessed that the pictures and videos were of his grandmother, aunt and cousin. He had taken the videos and pictures while they were bathing or changing clothes in their rooms.
