Another mild earthquake hits Ranau

Tremors were felt in the Sabah district after the 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck at about 10.01am today.

Ranau was hit by a second earthquake today after the 2.8 magnitude quake which occurred yesterday afternoon.
KOTA KINABALU:
A weak earthquake with a 3.1 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Ranau, Sabah, at 10.01am today.

It was the second to strike Ranau after a 2.8 magnitude quake at 2.56pm yesterday.

In a statement, the meteorological department said today’s earthquake, which occurred 14km west of Ranau at a depth of 10km, caused tremors in the district.

When contacted, a spokesman for the fire and rescue department said it was aware of the matter but that no untoward incidents had occurred so far.
