More floods for 10 Kelantan districts from Monday

The irrigation and drainage department said the districts affected are those within seven river basins.

KOTA BHARU:
Ten riverine districts in Kelantan are expected to suffer flooding next week, following a meteorological forecast of continuous rainfall from Dec 16-19.

The irrigation and drainage department named the affected districts as Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai, Jeli, and Gua Musang.

The river basins include the Golok river basin, Kelantan river basin, Pengkalan Nangka river basin, Gali river basin, Kemasin river basin, Semerak river basin, and Pergau river basin.

More evacuees go home in Johor and Pahang

The flood situation in Johor and Pahang improved tonight, with the number of evacuees in relief centres dropping slightly. However, the number of evacuees in Perak remained the same.

The number of victims in Segamat decreased to 40 people after the closure of a relief centre at the Kampung Tasek community hall.

Pahang also saw a drop in the number of flood victims, with 41 people still at three relief centres tonight, and one relief centre closed.

In Perak, the number of flood victims in Manjung remained at 186 people.
