
The first casualty was Tuan Jusoh Tuan Hassan, 66, who was found drowned in Besut, Terengganu, on Nov 28, Bernama reported.
Yesterday, a landslide in Ajil, Hulu Terengganu, claimed the lives of two girls, Puteri Sajidah Azman, 16, and her sister, Siti Fatimah, 13, while a one-year-old boy drowned after falling into floodwaters at his home in Tumpat on Thursday.
Kelantan is the worst-hit state, with 91,279 evacuees taking shelter in relief centres. Pasir Mas is the district with most evacuees (27,845) followed by Tumpat (15,636), Kota Bharu (13,271), Pasir Puteh (8,943), Bachok (6,634), Kuala Krai (6,591), Machang (6,042), Tanah Merah (5,284), Jeli (1,005) and Gua Musang (27).
However, water levels at seven major rivers were reported to be receding, although still above the danger level.
In Terengganu, 39,954 people had been relocated, of whom 15,675 were in Besut, 6,606 in Hulu Terengganu, 6,683 in Setiu, 2,501 in Kemaman, and the rest in Marang, Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Nerus.
Water levels at several rivers in Terengganu have risen above the danger level.
Baling district is the latest region of Kedah affected by the floods. The number of evacuees in the state has risen to 8,252. The PLUS highway from Jitra to Hutan Kampung has been closed since 10pm yesterday.
More evacuees were reported in Johor, where three roads in Kluang were flooded. Water levels of Sungai Tangkak, Sungai Lenik and Sungai Kahang are reported to be at danger levels.
However, the flood situation is improving in Perlis, Perak Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, with fewer people remaining at relief centres, and several centres being closed.
