PETALING JAYA:
Sarawak United People’s Party president Dr Sim Kui Hian has been re-elected unopposed for the 2025-2027 term, after nominations for the top five posts were closed yesterday.

The four other incumbents were also re-elected to their respective posts.

Richard Riot and Lee Kim Shin retained the deputy presidencies, while Sebastian Ting and Francis Harden Hollis were re-elected as secretary-general and treasurer respectively.

Riot is the MP for Serian, Lee is state transport minister, while Ting is state deputy tourism minister, and Francis is the deputy talent minister.

Sim, who is deputy premier, thanked party members for their support, solidarity and loyalty. He has been at the helm of the party since taking over from Peter Chin, a former federal minister, in 2014.

He said the SUPP of today is “truly very different” from the once disunited SUPP of 2011.
