Na’im was also appointed as a committee member of the youth wing.
Na’im’s membership was terminated on Sept 27, just before the party elections. He had intended to contest for a spot on the committee.
He claimed that the party decided to terminate his membership after he quit Bersatu to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) in 2022.
However, he rejoined Bersatu a year later after being sacked from PBM along with 12 others, including former Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin.
“But last week, I re-registered and my application was approved. So I am once again a Bersatu member,” he said when met at the Bersatu Youth general assembly here.
Na’im said he was confident that the youth wing could give its Umno counterpart a run for its money in terms of wooing Malay and Bumiputera youths.
He said he did not doubt Bersatu Youth’s capabilities, despite Umno Youth being a more experienced wing and expressed confidence with the leadership of Bersatu Youth chief Hilman Idham.
