Man nabbed for distributing drugs at Petaling Street

Police also arrested another man who is believed to have distributed methamphetamine to the visitors of various entertainment centres in the Klang Valley.

Police have arrested a 48-year-old man believed to have been operating a small-scale drug distribution operation at Jalan Petaling, Kuala Lumpur, also known as Petaling Street.

Dang Wangi police chief Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said the suspect was arrested at Jalan Tun Tan Siew Sin at 11.50pm on Tuesday while 26.1g of heroin, estimated to be worth RM652, was seized.

He said the suspect had various drug and criminal records and tested positive for morphine. He has been remanded until Dec 3 to assist in investigations into the trafficking and self-administration of drugs.

Sulizmie said police also arrested a 30-year-old believed to have been involved in distributing methamphetamine to the visitors of various entertainment centres in the Klang Valley since the middle of this year.

The suspect was arrested at Jalan Dewan Bahasa around 5am on Monday after police conducted a check of the Perodua Bezza he had been driving. They confiscated 650g of methamphetamine and 8.2g of ketamine on the suspect, worth an estimated total of RM6,140.

The man tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine, ketamine, and benzo but did not have a criminal record. He is under remand until Dec 1 and is also being probed for the trafficking and self-administration of drugs.
