
PETALING JAYA: Nearly 10,000 people have been evacuated from their homes in Kelantan as of 3pm today due to floods, a massive increase from this morning where only 3,844 flood victims were recorded.
Some 9,868 people from 3,020 families have been relocated to 89 temporary relief centres, of which 16 are located in Pasir Mas, Harian Metro reported.
Some 2,290 people were forced to flee their homes in Pasir Mas, followed by Pasir Puteh (1,605), Kota Bharu (1,570), Kuala Krai (1,347), Tanah Merah (815), Tumpat (691), Bachok (600), Jeli (544) and Machang (406).
In Rantau Panjang, all the main roads were inundated, though Sinar Harian quoted Kelantan police chief Yusoff Mamat as saying heavy vehicles could still use the roads.
