PETALING JAYA:
A father of just four months had his life cut short after he was crushed by a container at the North Port in Klang yesterday.

Alhafiz Abdul Rajak, 34, died from a severe injury to his head in the 8.26am incident.

His brother, Raffi Abdul Rajak, 32, said he received a call from the port management an hour after the incident.

“I was given to understand that he was on duty, monitoring containers at the site.

“I rushed to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital where they confirmed that my brother had died,” Kosmo reported him as saying when met.

Raffi said Alhafiz, the eldest of three siblings, left behind a wife and a four-month-old baby boy.

This is the third recent death involving a container, the first being the death of Lee Zi Rou, 21, after the Perodua Bezza she was driving was crushed by a container that toppled from a lorry on Nov 13 in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.

Two days later, a 33-year-old man died and two others were injured in a three-vehicle accident involving a container lorry on the North-South Expressway in Kluang, Johor.

Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao confirmed yesterday’s incident, saying the case had been classified as sudden death.
