PETALING JAYA:
Civil servants paid by the Johor government will get a bonus of two months from the state administration as a token of appreciation for their dedication in serving the people.

Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced this when tabling the state’s 2025 budget at the state assembly today, Bernama reported.

“Hopefully, this incentive will be a motivation for them to continue providing the best service possible to Bangsa Johor,” he was quoted as saying.

Selangor and Sarawak have also announced two-month bonuses for their civil servants, while Sabah will give a one-month bonus to theirs. Kelantan will distribute RM500 in special aid to each of its civil servants.

On the other hand, Terengganu said it was waiting for the finance ministry’s approval to distribute bonuses to civil servants in the state.

Earlier, Onn Hafiz tabled a RM1.99 billion state budget for next year, with a surplus of RM5.12 million projected.

The southern state expects to collect RM2 billion in revenue next year, while allocating RM1.27 billion for operational expenditure and RM728 million for development expenses.
