PETALING JAYA: A 41-year-old woman died while her 11-year-old son suffered serious injuries after they were hit by a train near Kampung Petagas, Putatan, Sabah today.
Putatan fire and rescue department chief Noorsherriyana Bohari said the incident occurred at about 2pm while both victims were crossing the railway tracks near Kampung Petagas.
“The woman was confirmed dead at the scene while the boy suffered serious injuries,” Noorsherriyana said, according to Utusan Borneo.
The boy was sent to hospital for treatment.
Separately, Daily Express reported that one of the boy’s legs was severed in the incident.
