Fahmi, the PKR information chief, said Anwar could hold other positions that would allow him to remain in the top post for a second term.
“He’s holding the prime minister’s post as the chairman of Pakatan Harapan and the unity government’s leadership council.
“PKR does have a three-term limit for the president’s post, but there’s no issue (of Anwar not being able to be prime minister after completing his third term as PKR president),” he said at a press conference here.
Anwar is expected to be elected to his third term as PKR president when the party holds its elections next year.
He was first elected PKR president in 2018 and retained the post in the 2022 party polls.
The post was previously held by Anwar’s wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
