PETALING JAYA: The deal with Aerotree Defence and Services Sdn Bhd for the delivery of four UH-60A Black Hawk helicopters has been scrapped after the company failed to meet the October delivery deadline.
Defence minister Khaled Nordin said a notice of cancellation has been submitted to the company, Berita Harian reported.
“October has already passed, there’s no (Black Hawks delivered), therefore (the deal) is no more,” he was quoted as saying.
In July, deputy defence minister Adly Zahari said Aerotree Defence and Services had cited the ongoing war in Ukraine as one of the reasons for the delay in procuring the helicopter.
The army previously said it would propose cancelling the helicopter lease contract if the vendor failed to meet their delivery obligations.
