RMAF fighter jet makes emergency landing at KKIA

The F/A-18D Hornet fighter jet reportedly experienced a technical issue involving its left engine.

A Royal Malaysian Air Force fighter jet is reportedly parked at Kota Kinabalu International Airport’s Terminal 2 after making an emergency landing at the airport last night.

A Royal Malaysian Air Force fighter jet reportedly made an emergency landing at Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) last night.

The F/A-18D Hornet fighter jet reportedly experienced a technical issue involving its left engine before landing safely at 7.47pm, according to Berita Harian.

The fighter jet was reported to be in good condition, and engineers inspected the aircraft shortly after it landed.

It is understood that the jet remains parked at KKIA’s Terminal 2.

FMT has contacted the defence ministry for comment.
