Their victory means Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin’s “formula” for the party election has been fulfilled while Kiandee and Radzi successfully defended their posts for a second term.
Muhyiddin’s formula saw Faizal agreeing to contest for one of the vice-presidents’ posts instead of defending his Bersatu deputy presidency, to allow opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin to take over the post.
Aside from Faizal, he had also proposed that Kiandee and Radzi fill the other vice-presidents’ posts.
The others who were in the six-cornered race for the three vice-presidents’ posts were Bersatu information chief Razali Idris, Kuang assemblyman Rafiq Abdullah and Batu Kawan Bersatu chief Aziss Zainal Abiddin.
Bersatu election committee chairman Abdul Azim Zabidi said Radzi topped the poll with 11,690 votes, followed by Kiandee (11,295) and Faizal (9,278).
