PETALING JAYA:
Police have denied that a Boeing 737 plane carrying 77 passengers had crashed at the Subang airport late last night.

Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Ja’afar clarified that it was merely a training exercise involving multiple rescue agencies, Harian Metro reported.

He said the drill was to help the agencies be prepared to handle aircraft crash incidents.

“The training was also overseen by the National Disaster Management Agency,” he was quoted as saying.

Earlier today, a news report claiming that a plane crash had claimed 10 lives and injured 67 people had gone viral.

The crash reportedly occurred at 12.41am prompting the fire and rescue department and the Royal Malaysian Air Force to rush to the site to provide assistance.
